Setup: typical prices
The levels are indicative and based on Danish providers’ own pricing pages.
- Webshop on a subscription: from about DKK 450/mo, often with no setup fee.
- WooCommerce webshop built by an agency: about DKK 12,000–60,000.
- Shopify webshop set up by an agency: from about DKK 15,000.
- Custom-built webshop with integrations: DKK 80,000 and up.
The ongoing costs
The ongoing costs are what decide whether the webshop makes money. Work through them before you choose a platform.
- Platform subscription (Shopify and similar) or hosting (WooCommerce).
- Payment fees per transaction for cards and MobilePay.
- Apps and plugins for things like reviews, newsletters and shipping.
- Shipping module and labels for PostNord, GLS or DAO.
- Theme and plugin licenses that renew every year.
- Time or paid hours for updates and bug fixes.
What drives the price up?
The number of products and variants, integrations with inventory and accounting, B2B pricing, multiple languages and currencies, and how much design has to be done from scratch. A webshop with 20 products and standard shipping is a completely different job from one with 5,000 SKUs and inventory management.
Legal requirements take time too
A Danish webshop must have terms and conditions, information about the right of withdrawal, a privacy policy and cookie consent. Prices for consumers must be shown including VAT. It’s not expensive, but it has to be in place from the start.
